It’s finally happening.
Valley Forge’s forthcoming second full-length CD – Artificial Heart is a blend of cinematic and organic electronics meshed with complex sequences and rhythms ranging from pulsating dance beats to downtempo darkdub. Nestled amidst the instrumental tracks are four vocal pieces – the highlight of which, features legendary australian entertainer Kamahl – making his first appearance in the ‘electronic’ genre – on the traditional spiritual Wayfaring Stranger. Kamahl’s vocals were recorded specifically for the album – not sampled from a pre-existing source. Also appearing is the frontman from Sydney band So I’m Jo, Glenn Cassidy on the first single, Follow Suit. Along for the ride on that release – a 7-track EP – are remixes by two of Australia’s greatest dance legends; Boxcar and Single Gun Theory. The album has been in production for what seems like forever but is, at last, expected to be available in June/July on CD and digital download via iTunes.
VF count amongst their list of many influences the likes of Depeche Mode, Tangerine Dream, Severed Heads, John Carpenter, Plaid, Boxcar, Single Gun Theory, Itch-E & Scratch-E, Vision Four 5, Curve, Kraftwerk, William Orbit, Home Video, Unkle, Jean Michel Jarre, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Vangelis and Recoil.
The first double-A-sided EP, ‘Follow Suit’ will be released on June 11th and will be available on CD in stores and as a digital download via iTunes.
